What is Redbubble
Redbubble is print on demand(POD) online marketplace where creators can list their art for sale on products.
How Redbubble Works
When someone makes a purchase only then product will be made (on demand) and sent to the customer.
How do you get paid on Redbubble
As a designer, you will earn royalty which is from 10%-30%. (Redbubble term for this is Artist margin).
You will get paid if you are eligible (your Paypal account is verified, the customer didn’t cancel their order, your Redbubble account is not suspended and you have met the payment threshold). The threshold is depending on where you live $20/£20/€20. Take into consideration Redbubble’s new tier policy for standard seller accounts.
If for one reason or another, your seller account doesn’t reach $20/year.
Redbubble will run the payout process in December. If you made more than $2/ £2/€2, but have not reached the Payment Threshold this is when you will get paid.
Memberships and Fees on Redbubble
Redbubble is free to join, you don’t need to pay anything upfront.
There are no listing fees involved.
In 2023 May 1st Redbubble introduced a new tier system and added extra fees.
Redbubble is still free even when they have updated their system.
Note: I have accounts with both standard and premium tiers.

Amount of Products Redbubble has
Redbubble has 70+ products you can customize with your designs.
I guess that products are listed on their website by most selling first because this order doesn’t make sense otherwise.
- Apparel
- Stickers
- Phone Cases
- Wall Art
- Home & Living
- Kids & Babies
- Pets
- Accessories
- Stationery & Office
Special Products on Redbubble
For me, special products are duffle bags, backpacks, and pet products. This is just me because I have been on the platform for so long. But in the beginning, I was thrilled about the leggings.
You have to take a look for yourself whether there are the right items for your designs and whether there is already an audience(demand) for your type of design.
Product Pricing
To see base cost without artist margin, you can go to Redbubble -> Account settings
-> Product pricing and set MarkUp to 0% to see the base cost of products.
Shipping Times and Pricing on Redbubble
Shipping times and costs may vary since Redbubble will use 3rd party manufacturers that are closer to the customer.
Packaging, handling multiple items, and high-value orders may affect shipping costs and time because there is more to do and it will take longer time.
They have standard and express shipping options available.
Help & Resouces
Redbubble has a good help center with Articles that are clear and consider everything.
RB has also a blog made specially for Artists. To keep up you may want to take a look.
They also have newsletters and updates, they share with you promotional dates and upcoming holidays and events.
Ease of use
Redbubble is one of the best print-on-demand platforms when comes to the interface and user experience design. They got it right.
There are no loops and hoops.
All communication from them is also very clear.
